    *** Modding Enthoo Primo *** ideas and how-to's

    Figured it is time for Enthoo Primo to have a thread of modification ideas, concepts, tutorials and results.

    I will reserve a few post right off to use for the above to use as an index for posts as we have ideas and tutorials. Than we will have an alphabetical list with post number to keep track.

    Here is what I am thinking of. Things are collecting in the corner for the Primo... but who knows when it will get here.

    Components:
    * GA-X58A-UD5
    * i7 980
    * PH-TC14PE_B (have red/orange TY-143 fans.. orange might work but don't think the red will)
    * 3x 4GB Crucial Ballistix Sport
    * Xonar D2X
    * TX750
    * Asus ENGTX580 DirectCU II Thing's a monster! 3 slots wide and 292mm long. Will have to remove or mod the reservoir bracket so it fits.

    Definite to does:
    * Caster base to match raising case 45-50mm w/ 5-10mm floor clearance. This will be fabricated with void-less 9mm Baltic birch 7 ply plywood and hopefully have grille material to match other grilles.

    Possibles so far:
    * Braiding the cables with paracord. What color/colors?
    * Paint motherboard black ??? Not sure about that. Would be much easier than making a cover by hand.
    * Mod the front and top grilles. Maybe do a grill in 5.25 bay door with matching borders to lower front grille...
    * Change LEDs to remote controlled RGB with lights inside case and custom base too. Maybe put LEDs behind grille strip along side of top and front with or without the stock LED strips??

    Open to suggestions to improve above and of course anything we can come up with our Enthoo Primo cases.

    Just to carry this over from another thread to here....

    "EL wire should not be an issue for replacing the LED strip. You would just need to use a 12V inverter for power. Maybe something like this with a molex input that you would be able to connect to our LED light switch. http://www.elwirepros.com/micro-12-invert.html You wont be able to directly connect EL wire because it requires the inverter."

    Note that the linked inverter comes with a molex adapter as an option in the dropdown box. Also, EL wire comes in 5mm width, which should just about fit --> http://www.elwirepros.com/el-wire-by-the-foot-50.html

    If we can't find RGB LED strip to fit the EL will be the way to go. Thanks.

    I have to figure out something with that darn door. I am going to have a Monsoon double bay reservoir and Aquaero 6 in the bays and have them covered up by a door is ludicrous for me at least and having the door open towards the window side was a bad ergonomic design. Everything else looks glorious though. So any door ideas would be great!!

    @ grifftech; Are you looking for a grill or a window? Jesse over on TheModZoo posted a tutorial on removing the lower panel center.

    MNPCtech is planning to do more grills for Enthoo Primo. Can't wait to see what they come up with.

    Damn that is slick!! I think to replace the door I wuld either like to remove it completely and then finsih off the perimeter where it used to be so it looks clean or have a windowed door that is hinged on the right.
