Thread: Space behind front door

    Space behind front door

Just a quick question. I need to put an Lamptron FC5 fan controller in the case. Is there enough room behind the front door with the knobs to allow it to close? Thanks for the help. Also, while I'm at it, can you put a 360 in the bottom of the case without removing the drive cage? I know the bottom bracket won't be able to be used with a 360, but can it be done and what problems may I run into?

There is less than 5mm of clearance between 5.25 bay grills and back of door. 4.82mm to be precise according to my trusty digital caliper/depth gauge.

No problem. I'm thinking about a Enthoo Primo FAQ

I think that would be a great idea. There are a lot of questions about what fits and what does not. Great idea.

just as an afterthought....the Reeven Six Eyes fan controller sits just fine behind the door. I bought the thing cause the buttons push in flush w/ the face plate but ya can close the door with the buttons out no problem. Measuring the buttons, they stick out 8.00mm

Thanks a lot, JackNaylor I appreciate the suggestion. I'll look into them. I've only found them at Performance PCs so far. But the controller can help a lot with the rad fans. Thanks again.

Jack, is the face of the Six Eyes flush with sides of bay opening? Is it possible the door might be pushing the buttons in when it closes?

I remeasured and case face to 5.25 face is 14.8mm and door is 9.9mm thick making the space between them 4.9mm.

I watched a video review of the six eyes. That's the way it is supposed to work. You push the button and it comes out. After you adjust the fan, you push it back in. So it should work with the door.

    Indeed.
Jack is saying he can close his door with buttons out.
