Thread: Evolve X - can the radiator or fans sit above the top radiator bracket?

Evolve X - can the radiator or fans sit above the top radiator bracket?

I'd like enough clearance for a top mounted rad (240 or 360) that doesn't hang low and cover up the top of the ram slots. I have this set up now with an Evolve ATX TG and a Corsair AIO H115i. The design works well enough with my case mods I documented here: http://phanteks.com/forum/showthread...G-Air-Flow-Tip

I am now building a new system and looking for an improvement aesthetically. I am wondering if the Evolve X has more space up top. I see the case itself is a bit taller. But I was actually hoping there would now be enough space to place either the fans or the radiator above the bracket under the lid. This way both the radiator and the fans do not sit below the bracket and drop so deep into the main case area.

    Anyone know? Thanks.

Evolv X is like Evolv, no room for fans in top. Well, fans will fit but then there is not room for airflow between fan and top.

    bummer!

I will need to experiment. I may have to place the radiator in the front....which I don't like to do. we shall see.

The Evolv X top venting is 5 time more than Evolv ATX and is 25mm taller than Evolv ATX. From what I've read most of that added height is for radiator and fan to motherboard clearance, so you should be fine with a normal thickness radiator and fans in the top. I know the top clearance from radiator mount to cover is same in Evolv X as in Evolv ATX. I'm trying to get Evolv X. If I do I will be able to measure and tell you the exact spacing.

Hello, I don't know much about Evolv X. But i think you can find your answer over here https://www.reddit.com/r/Phanteks/co...tor_clearance/, if you still looking for it. I am new in this forum website. I am looking for the second hand CPU phanteks cooler. Because sometimes my CPU got hang and i don't know why. When i play games in my computer, it won't get hang much. But when i open a website like https://edubirdie.com/blog/100-research-paper-topics or some other website my computer starts hanging. Can anyone tell me, why my laptop hang when i open website and not while playing game. It is because of the website or i have to buy CPU cooler for me?

When I had a custom EK water loop setup on my Evolv X case I had a 360 EK rad on top w/ 3 120mm Noctua case fans blowing up/out. There was room for that.

I ended up removing the water loop as I didn't like the fact that everything barely fit in other areas of the case. I'm going with a new model Noctua HSF for the CPU cooling, the NH-U12A.

    The build is in progress...
